Appreciation Post – Llewellyn Falco

By February 22, 2026No Comments

Unfortunately, saying thank you seems to be an afterthought more and more. So at least once a month, I will take a few minutes to publicly appreciate someone that has had an impact on me.

This round:  Llewellyn Falco

As usual, I stink at remembering first introductions.  But in this case, I do remember meeting him.  He approached me after my session at a TechWell (SQE) conference back in 2011-ish.  Ok, I don’t remember the year but I do remember the interaction.  He said I did a good job and then after chatting a bit, we both realized we would be at another conference together in a few months.  It felt like our paths were meant to cross.

I am positive another post is coming (given that we are c0-writing a book right now) but I want to appreciate something during this process specifically.

Generally, we target meeting weekly for a few hours to write.  Over the months that we have been doing this, he’s seen me at high moments and low ones.  And each time, I feel to the core, that the priority is taking care of myself over whatever goals we had made.  Do I need to just cancel today?  Do we need to shift focus?  Basically, what do I need to be my best self.

I put a lot of pressure on myself but having a person that I know will give me grace without judgement.  Well, I just can’t appreciate that enough.   I’m lucky to have him as a co-author and more importantly as a friend.  Thank you.
