Appreciation

Appreciation Post – Elena Maksumova

Unfortunately, saying thank you seems to be an afterthought more and more.  So at least once a month, I will take a few minutes to publicly appreciate someone that has had an impact on me.

This round:  Elena Maksumova

I met Elena as an attendee in my Leading Amazing Teams course several years ago.

There is so much to appreciation when it comes to this woman but I want to focus on inspiration that she has given me.  Elena has actively demonstrated what it means to challenge yourself, to struggle with the vulnerability, to get frustrated by the process, to commit to improving the material, to seek ways to find additional value and opportunities, and to be reflective before/during and after.  This passion, this dedication, this strength, this journey…well, has been an honor to observe and support.

But especially, I am grateful for the inspiration.  Most people I know, including myself, sometimes wonder “can I do this?”, “will I be enough?”, “will it be worth it?”.  I personally had this moment just the other day and as I was almost about to let my imposter syndrome get the best of me, Elena popped into my head.  What she is doing is way harder than what I’m trying in this moment.  I know 100% that she has this – so why am I not at least trying.  So I took a deep breath and dove in.  Sometimes, people impact you in ways that they never even know about.  I’m so grateful for this one, that I wanted to take the time to publicly appreciate you.

Thank you!
