Unfortunately, saying thank you seems to be an afterthought more and more.  So at least once a month, I will take a few minutes to publicly appreciate someone that has had an impact on me.

This round:  Lizzy Morris

Since I think 2013-ish, I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Lizzy.  For many years, we would see each other once a year or so but every time, there was a very natural reconnection and catch up.

There are so many things to appreciate Lizzy for but I’m going to focus on this aspect:  her willingness to evaluate, learn and share.

One of the gifts that our relationship has provided is tough but meaningful conversations about experiences – be it gender, racial, and/or community issues.  I always appreciated her perspectives and willingness to explore with me.  Then last year, everything was intensified.   What was not surprising is the grace and vulnerability that Lizzy has been demonstrating with every interaction.  She highlights new learnings, changed viewpoints, insights, desires and actions towards a more equitable world.  I’m honored to be a part of Continuing the Conversation with her every other Thursday.  Whether these conversations help others, they certainly have made me a better person. I’m grateful that you are a part of my life.
