Unfortunately, saying thank you seems to be an after thought more and more. So at least once a month, I will take a few minutes to publicly appreciate someone that has had an impact on me.

This round:  Selena Delesie

I met Selena only a few years ago.  The first time that I really got to interact with her was at the Agile Conference 2015, she even won the conference party costume award.  Since then we have occasionally crossed paths at various conferences over the years.

A few months ago, Selena was incredibly raw, honest and vulnerable with her needs online.  I reached out to her to help in any way that I could.  As with most situations, when you try to help others, they often end up helping you more.

Through these daily conversations/touch points, Selena has demonstrated a level of hard work, integrity, frustration, joy, sadness, peace, reflection, and every other emotion/reaction a human could have.  She has reminded me what daily connection can do for a person.  She has modeled behaviors that I aspire to become.  She has shared and listened.  She has witnessed and been witnessed.  I find myself looking forward to our little connection and grateful for the friendship that has developed.

So thank you Selena. I am so lucky to continue to get to know you!
