Unfortunately, saying thank you seems to be an after thought more and more. So at least once a month, I will take a few minutes to publicly appreciate someone that has had an impact on me.
This round: Pete
Every year, I do a happy birthday appreciation for my husband, Pete. However, this month it felt fitting to do one for a perk of getting to travel someone and experience something that I never anticipated.
So background that is necessary. My husband is involved in the sport of Roller Derby. First as a referee (thanks to a former developer of mine introducing him to the sport). Then as a coach. Now in Denver as one of the captains of the Denver Ground Control Men’s Roller Derby team. He is also 100% Irish, which qualifies him to try out for the World Cup Men’s Roller Derby team for Ireland. After several trips and numerous months, he learned that he made the team. This meant Pete and I would be traveling to Barcelona, Spain for the Men’s Roller Derby World Cup.
