Unfortunately, saying thank you seems to be an after thought more and more. So at least once a month, I will take a few minutes to publicly appreciate someone that has had an impact on me.

This round:  Peter Saddington

I first met Peter as a speaker for the Coaching and Mentoring track at an Agile Alliance conference maybe 4-5 years ago.  He was one of the very few submissions that centered a session around mentoring.  As someone that was new to me, I attended his session.  Within minutes, I knew that this was someone that I wanted to be associated with.  He was energetic, passionate, caring, knowledgeable and funny.  After the session, I thanked him and proceeded to stay in general contact over the years…including asking him to submit to speak the next year since he was one of the top rated speakers (which was not surprising).

So when my path and Agile For All’s paths began to align – I was excited to realize that Peter Saddington was part of Agile For All too.  As if this choice wasn’t already sweet, now I would have the opportunity to work with Peter on a regular basis.  The irony is not lost upon me that what I’m going to appreciate him for is actually not working with me on a regular basis.  Wait, I promise this is positive!

Peter has been challenging himself this year with constant experimentation. Not only is that impressive and inspiring but he made a point to bring it back to his Agile For All peeps…he shared…he taught…he energized…he inspired.  I, and others, walked away wanting to leverage his learnings thus far and experiment as well.  So we started the Agile For All Ask Me Anything LiveStream on Fridays.  I did my first on on December 15th last year – it was a little scary but awesome all at the same time.

So thank you Peter for continuously raising the bar of what is possible and what you know we can achieve.  I’m proud to be your teammate and friend.
