Unfortunately, saying thank you seems to be an after thought more and more.  So at least once a month, I will take a few minutes to publicly appreciate someone that has had an impact on me.

This round:  My various bosses over the years

There are many studies out there that highlight the top reason people leave a job is due to having a bad boss.  The studies always make sense to me but I would probably extend this to say bad leadership in general and not always the specific direct boss.

However, this really hasn’t been my top reason.  I know it’s legit, just go to a conference and listen to how frustrated someone is with their management.  However, my primary reasons have varied from wanting in/out of consulting to wanting to move to Denver.

So this is where I get to be extremely grateful for the bosses I’ve had over the years.  Unfortunately, I’ve had quite a few that it’s hard for me to list everyone but please know that you helped shape me into the leader that I am today.  You set the example that I strive to be a good boss that inspires people to be engaged and motivated in their careers.

Thank you so much!

P.S. In case my new boss reads this…no pressure 😉
