Appreciation Post – Ryann Whitmore

By June 22, 2023No Comments

Unfortunately, saying thank you seems to be an afterthought more and more.  So at least once a month, I will take a few minutes to publicly appreciate someone that has had an impact on me.

This round:  Ryann Whitmore

I have known Ryann since we were kids.  We got to know each other more during our high school years. But out of secrets for us both, this appreciation will not focus on our relationship’s early years.  Instead on what she brings into my life in recent years.

It’s always a challenge to stay connected with people as time passes.  Lives take various journeys and time commitments that never seem to align.  Our path was no different and yet there are numerous things that kept us checking in every so often.  What I want to appreciate is the depth and variety of the ways Ryann makes an effort.  Now I know she might say, I hardly do enough.  Or that she wishes it was more but honestly, it helps keep me grounded exactly as it is.

Ryann might reach out for a personal related topic, a work related topic, a world related topic or a random fantasy football group offer.  This randomness and variety of interactions, honestly makes me feel valued – seen – appreciated and respected.  She thinks of reaching out to me.  She knows she can.  There is not a topic that is off limits for us.  And I love it.  I love our lasting relationship that goes beyond friendship.  She is a connection that aligns two worlds for me that I don’t always feel make sense.  Who I think I was as a kid and who I am now – so very different, but she always saw me…this me.  And she continues to make time for me and recognize what I can help with – even if it’s just an empathic ear.

Thank you Ryann for all of these years and the many more to come!
