This was my first time speaking at AgileNYC. They held a one day conference with eight speakers traveling in from various places. I’m not even going to pretend attending a conference where I had no responsibilities except for delivering my session was anything less than ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL! I wasn’t running all over the place making sure things were setup. I wasn’t dealing with any escalated issues. I was able to just be present and present I was. I listened to Selena’s passionate keynote about evoking the soul of agile. I listened to Natalie’s stories about bias that we bring into the workplace. I listened to Richard’s amazing technique of helping people feature mine for the MMF. I participated in the open space.

I found the organizers to be very welcoming and appreciative. Even when I completely destroyed the room setup for my session that takes just a slice of Training from the BACK of the Room. I enjoyed a small conference where I wasn’t overwhelmed by choices. My only continuous improvement feedback would be to consider a difference space. The rooms didn’t lend themselves to interactive and engaging deliveries. The additional space was not efficient for lunch lines, etc.  That said, it really didn’t take away from the experience.

Then I finished the evening with great conversations and laughter by heading out for tasty beverages and dinner with Selena, Natalie and Melissa Perri. The whole day and evening was eventful yet relaxing. This is an event that I will keep on my radar for next year!
