Unfortunately, saying thank you seems to be an afterthought more and more. So at least once a month, I will take a few minutes to publicly appreciate someone that has had an impact on me.
This round: Mike Vizdos
I can’t remember the first time I met Mike but I can remember the first moment when I knew I had respect for him. We were at a conference and he was making his lunch plans with a new conference attendee. He said that he made it a priority to meet new people and help them feel included. Respect, just respect.
But this appreciation is for recent interactions. I’ve been so heads down on things with X2A that honestly, I’ve felt a bit disconnected. Then out of the blue, I get a simple check in message inquiring how I’m doing. Within 24 hours, we had time scheduled to just catch up. It was lovely on every front. The conversation, The connection. The care. I truly fill my energy tank with moments like this.
The thing is this is not unexpected from Mike. He makes the effort. He makes the time. He’s an incredible source of knowledge but even more support. Thank you Mike for role modeling everything we advocate for in our community.
