I realize that with this blog, I’ve always been writing.  But this post is to say officially, I’m co-writing another book.  I know, I know.  I said I wouldn’t.  But to be fair, I said that about the first book too.  The fact is when the right topic, time and most importantly co-author comes along…I simply can’t pass up the opportunity.

I’m still nervous about my top two fears as the first round – will it be valuable?  will I cause harm to my co-author?  But now I know to push through them.

So what is the book?  Well, there’s no title yet but what I can say is the topic of the book is to help people (especially leaders) learn how to be more impactful speakers.  We haven’t written the official pitch paragraph yet but it was important to both of us that this book be:

  • a valuable resource for people looking to explore event speaking (public or private)
  • a valuable resource for people trying to help leaders be more impactful in their speaking
  • not a boring resource book (I’m being challenged here…I like my bullet points approach which is simply not good in a book)

So who am I co-authoring with?  This question I know and can say (LOL)…Llewellyn Falco.  A mutual friend of ours spotted the synergy of the content potential and gently encouraged us to explore the possibility.  It was quickly very clear that our goals and content did align.  Add all of that to knowing Llewellyn since around 2012 and yet this now being finally a chance to work on something together.  Well, the stars all aligned for me to eat my words.

So when will it be coming out? Back to questions I don’t know (LOL).  The nice part of self-publishing is that this is our timeline.  That’s also the bad part.  But we are respecting each other’s commitments while keeping steady progress going.  Our hope…by next summer.  I know that sounds so far away but in my experience, that’s nothing when it comes to writing a book.

What’s a challenge you hope the book will cover?
