Speaker Preview Video

By March 12, 2025No Comments

As I noted in my yearly reflection blog post, marketing isan area that I could/should/can do better – or at least be significantly more intentional about.  So I thought I would do a bit of a series on things that I’m experimenting with.  The next marketing asset:  The Speaker Preview Video (super short and under 5 min versions)

Why did I create it:  One, everyone kept telling me how important this is.  So I’m trusting the sheer volume of this feedback that I received.  Two, as I mentioned in the One Page Speaker Profile post, I’m struggling when unknown.  I need more assets that clearly show what I bring to the event.  The profile page is one thing, but getting a little video taste is another level.

How I created it:  After hiring people for video and media, I used Camtasia Studio to help me create the content.  I attempted to hire someone but cost was just too high for me.  So I decided to give it a go myself.

What surprised me:  How hard this was (the under 5 min version that is.  The quick one was easy so I over estimated my capabilities when it came to a longer version.  Technically and atheistically – I’m not sure I still love the result but it is my starting point now to see what feedback I receive.

Do you have a Speaker Preview?  In what ways do you use it for marketing?
